FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH OF CHRIST :
The renovation of the interior of this National Historic Landmark structure involved the design of a new chancel area, renovation of the organ screen wall, and major changes to the interior colors and finishes. The chancel area, while located in a Romanesque style space, was designed to be open and flexible in accordance with the needs of the congregation. The organ screen wall emphasizes the importance of the chancel area by reflecting the tripartite design of the Tiffany stained glass windows. Color and finishes were selected to compliment the architectural style of the space. This included refinishing of the painted wood trim, installation of new carpet, and the selection of a soft paint color scheme to compliment the colors of the original Tiffany Studio glass. Ferut Architects also provided designs for the new pulpit, altar, baptismal font stand and wedding kneeler.
